WHO: INKBOX (Client)

WHAT: An on-going scope of work for strategic media relations.

WHERE: Toronto, ON

WHEN: September 2018 - December 2019

WHY: To raise awareness of Inkbox within the US media landscape, and to cement the concept of semi-permanent tattoos as an emerging beauty and culture trend.

HOW: Convincing jaded New Yorkers that temporary tattoos were cool was no easy feat. To maximize press coverage, Inkbox was aligned with various seasonal culture trends including TV/Movie premiers, New York Fashion Week, NBA Season, Black History Month, Pride, etc.

Inkbox has a massive catalog of designs that speak to a new and diverse generation of tattoo enthusiasts. Their internal partnerships team brokered various collaborations throughout the year that were newsworthy, providing ample storytelling opportunities.

In addition to garnering media coverage on their collections, it was imperative to secure press stories whose headlines validated semi-permanent tattoos as the next big thing in beauty and culture.

This was achieved by Inkbox investing in updated branding and messaging that positioned them as a legitimate player in the competitive Gen Z beauty market. New branding, coupled with their first venture into retail, led to Inkbox receiving top-tier coverage that legitimized the Canadian company in the US.
