WHO: Skillshare (Client)

WHAT: An on-going scope of work for strategic media relations.

WHERE: New York, NY

WHEN: April 2018 - December 2018

WHY: To align Skillshare as a cutting-edge digital content provider in the ed-tech space, while garnering media attention surrounding its Series C fundraising.

HOW: As with all PR campaigns, this relationship kicked-off with a simple announcement letting relevant media know that Skillshare has contracted press representation and that they can expect to receive relevant news announcements moving forward.

Not only did this industry-standard practice garner immediate press coverage, but it primed our editorial network to be receptive to the news that Skillshare secured its Series C funding soon after.

We took a tiered approach to announcing the fundraising news, by giving our top-tier editor “friendlies” first-access to the news, so they can develop full-length exclusive stories prior to the global announcement.

A press release was developed, and once the news was launched globally, earned media continued to flow in. Because the VC firms that led Skillshare’s  series in fundraising were international, this opened up new press markets for us to communicate the Skillshare story.

RESULTS: Fast Company, Courier Magazine (Print), Alleywatch, Wall Street Journal, Real Simple, Forbes, AdAge, Booooooom
